We are a private company consisting of two experienced midwives qualified as sonographers who work very closely with face2facebabyscans and Doctor Anthony Whelan. We are members of professional medical and scientific organisations, and keep ourselves regularly updated.

Typical baby scan print which is yours to keep

Our baby scanning services offer and provide reassurance and bonding in a 2d image from as early as 8 weeks pregnant, find out if your baby is a Boy or Girl from 18 weeks and have general reassurance throughout your pregnancy.

You will be offered an ultrasound booking scan at your chosen hospital, they range between 12 to 16 weeks gestation, and then at about 20 to 23 weeks a scan to check for spina bifida and other possible abnormalities, a look in detail at your baby's major organs and skeleton, check the health of your placenta and monitor your baby's growth. A private scan is not to replace your hospital scans but to enhance them. Some people like to have the extra reassurance.

Our clinic is fully equipped with state of the art facilities including flat screen TV to allow you and your invited guests to watch your scan in modern, comfortable unhurried surroundings with a personal emphasis.

Our aim is to treat each woman as an individual and to make their scan a reassuring, relaxing and positive experience.

Pregnancy Ultrasound

Ultrasound scans use sound waves to build up a picture of the inside of the body. The ultrasound scanner has a microphone which gives off sound waves which are then reflected back and converted into an image by the ultrasound machine.

With a 2D ultrasound, the Sonographer can view different layers of the baby, from the outer extremities to the internal organs. A 3D or 4D ultrasound scan differs where only the outside of the baby can be seen; it forms a topographical image of the baby so that the contours of the face and limbs can be more defined.

Is Ultrasound safe for my baby?

Yes. After years of careful research, no side effects from medical ultrasound have ever been found. As fully qualified sonographers we work to an agreed protocol suggested by the professional governing bodies. We are confident that we offer a safe and professional service to our customers. Will you tell me if you see any abnormality?

Our Private scans are not medical or diagnostic and they are meant to be for reassurance and bonding purposes. If however as medically trained Sonographers if we were to see any adverse features we would of course report on them to your chosen NHS hospital.
