Follicle Tracking Scan

Our Fertility & Follicle Tracking Scans are designed to monitor your menstrual cycle and help identify the optimal time for conception or fertility treatment.

By tracking follicle development and assessing the uterine lining, these scans provide valuable information to maximise the chances of successful fertilisation and implantation.

During the scan, we will assess the endometrium (lining of the womb), monitoring its thickness and appearance to ensure it is developing appropriately for implantation.

We will also examine the ovaries and measure any active follicles that may contain a developing egg.

Follicle tracking typically involves a series of 1–3 scans, usually beginning between days 7 and 9 of your menstrual cycle.

If you are undergoing IVF or other fertility treatment, your fertility clinic will advise when your scans should be performed.

The scan is carried out transvaginally, allowing for the clearest and most detailed images.

 A full bladder is not required for this examination.

The scan will assess the size, shape, and appearance of:

The uterus (womb)

The endometrium (lining of the womb)

Both ovaries

The pelvic region (adnexa)

Following your appointment, you will receive digital copies of your images along with a detailed report of the findings. If required, we can also send the report directly to your fertility clinic or healthcare provider.
