Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan

Available between 11 weeks + 4 days and 14 weeks + 1 day gestation

The Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan is a specialised ultrasound examination performed during early pregnancy. The scan measures the fluid-filled space at the back of your baby's neck, known as the nuchal translucency. This measurement can help assess the likelihood of certain chromosomal conditions, including Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), as well as other genetic abnormalities.

The NT measurement forms part of a screening assessment and can provide valuable information about your baby's development during the first trimester.

Your scan will be carried out by a qualified and experienced Midwife/Sonographer who has specialist training in performing and interpreting Nuchal Translucency scans.
